This never gets old! One of the best things about this is that it's diet soda so you can get it all over you without getting sticky.
FYI the Mythbusters did an entire segment on Diet Coke and Mentos awhile back, part of which involved trying to figure out what it is that makes this work. Apparently, there is a unique combination of chemicals and textures between the two substances that causes it. Other pops and other candies can produce similar results, but nothing matches Diet Coke and Mentos.
Another experiment we've tried is to put a Mento in our mouths taking a mouthful of Diet Coke and trying to hold our mouths closed. It either erupts all over our shirts or comes out our noses.

This is the funniest prank on a guy trying to hit on a girl using the famous "Diet Coke + Mentos" trick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CB2Z4clau4g
